* UPDATE * Please see the updates to this message (below).

Some owners recently received a “Code Enforcement Notice” from the Town of Hypoluxo regarding the replacement of windows without a permit.  (The town inspectors have been on the property due to the installation of our hurricane shutters.)

INSTRUCTIONS

For those who are unsure what to do, the Town of Hypoluxo has provided the following instructions:

      1) If you recently purchased your condo and the window was not replaced by you, please send an email to the Town of Hypoluxo stating that you purchased your condo “as-is” and provide your name, condo number and contact information so the town may contact you.
      2) If you hired a contractor to replace your window, please have your contractor contact the Town of Hypoluxo by the end of this week to obtain a permit.  Please also send an email to the town stating that you have contacted your contractor and provide your name, condo number and contact information, along with the name of your contractor.  (The town reminds you, it is your responsibility to ensure that your contractor has in fact contacted the town, so please be sure to follow up with your contractor.)
      3) If you hired a contractor to replace your window and are unable to reach your contractor, please send an email to the Town of Hypoluxo stating this, and provide your name, condo number and contact information so the town may contact you.

Send your email to: dfick@hypoluxo.org
Also, you may contact the town at: (561) 582-0155

Additional information: We have been informed that the cost of a permit is only $7 per $1,000.  Therefore, if you paid approximately $1,000 to replace your window, the cost of your permit should be approx $7.

* UPDATE #4*

Permit applications have been made to the Town of Hypoluxo for 35 units.

There are only a couple units with a unique circumstance that is preventing/delaying an application and these owners are already aware (or are being informed) of their situation.

Please check back for updates.
