Important information on Iguana Control

Due to the overwhelming population explosion of Iguanas we have had in the past several months, we have hired an iguana control company to help reduce the numbers of the invasive species on the property. The company called “Iguana Control” will be on site every Monday and Wednesday for the next
three months to reduce the number of iguanas. They will search to find the nests and remove any eggs to prevent more births and use an air powered pellet gun to humanely kill others. “Iguana Control” has the necessary licenses and permits to perform iguana removal. They will remove the deceased iguanas from the property and this company recycles the deceased iguanas into fish food/chum.

“Green iguanas are an invasive species in South Florida as determined by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). As a result of this determination, iguanas are not protected in Florida except by anti-cruelty laws, and as such it is not illegal to humanely kill iguanas on your property or with landowner permission. In fact, the FWC encourages removing iguanas from your property and will discourage iguanas from being kept as pets.”

The representative will be wearing a uniform shirt and carrying a backpack, the pellet gun is bright orange, please give him space to do the job he was hired to do.
