Pickleball Use & Noise Mitigation Update
The Board of Directors has approved updated guidelines governing pickleball play at Waterside to ensure a reasonable balance between recreational use and residents’ quiet enjoyment of the property.
After reviewing existing noise and nuisance provisions, the Board determined that the repetitive nature of pickleball noise requires clear operating conditions and enforcement.
Key guidelines include:
- Pickleball is permitted only under specific conditions.
- A soft type of ball is mandatory at all times, except during designated Social Club play periods.
- Only Waterside residents may use the courts; outside guests are not permitted.
- Play is restricted to designated pickleball areas on the tennis courts.
- Player limits apply, and reservations are required for specific courts.
- The Association will provide soft paddles when required.
- A testing phase beginning January 2026 will evaluate noise impact under these conditions.
- If results are inconclusive, soft balls will remain mandatory at all times.
These rules apply to both owners and renters and are intended to promote respectful, shared use of common amenities.
Please refer to the full memo below in both English and French and see the court schedule (also posted at the courts) for complete details.
